Personal Tax Manager / Senior Manager - Northants

One of the region’s leading accountancy firms is keen to recruit a CTA private client tax Manager or Senior Manager into their respected and growing Private Client Tax team. Working closely with the partners, you’ll oversee a portfolio of HNW individuals including business owners, serial entrepreneurs, trusts and wealthy families.

Whilst the role will include some tax compliance review work, a significant proportion of the role involves income and capital taxes planning. The incoming individual therefore needs to have demonstrable previous personal tax advisory experience.

Very much a client-facing role, you’ll need excellent communication and relationship management skills, as well as extensive knowledge of UK taxation effecting HNW entrepreneurial private clients.

Salary will be dependent on grade and experience but is likely to be in the region £65k-£80k + Bens p.a.

Trusts & Tax Senior Manager - Cambridge £65k-£80k DOE

The incoming individual will work closely with a highly experienced Trusts & Tax Director, advising HNW clients on trust accounting, trust taxation, administration and ad hoc trust planning issues.

Personal Tax Manager / Senior Manager - Birmingham

Personal Tax Senior Manager / Associate Director - Tunbridge Wells

Our client offers high quality, new-money entrepreneurial Private Client Tax work without the commute into London.

You’ll join an established and high-profile team, advising regional, London and international wealth. The client base includes PE executives, HNW business owners, serial entrepreneurs and wealthy families. The team undertakes  income and capital taxes planning, shareholder planning, exit strategies for business owners, property-related advice, residence/domicile issues and succession planning.

The team is busy, growing and keen to appoint an additional CTA at Senior Manager or Associate Director level. You will take responsibility for a portfolio of HNW/UHNW individuals and their families, as their key trusted adviser. This will predominantly involve identifying and advising on ad hoc personal tax planning projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work with experienced partners and to build a name for yourself in the region. There is also scope to work with partners and directors on networking and business development initiatives. 

The role would suit an experienced London Manager or Senior Manager looking to pursue their Private Client Tax career outside the Capital. Alternatively, a CTA from a strong regional practice locally. Either way, support will be provided with progression towards AD and Director grades. Some PE-related personal tax experience would be helpful, but is not essential. Strong previous experience of income and capital taxes planning for HNWIs is important.

Tax Technical Manager / Senior Manager - London £60k-£90k

Escape tax returns, compliance and time sheets! Our client’s growing Tax Technical team is seeking to appoint an additional CTA Manager or Senior Manager.

The team acts not only as a technical resource but ensures that the right systems are in place to share knowledge effectively, uphold best practices, and enhance the firm's reputation within the tax profession.

This is an exciting opportunity for a CTA with a strong technical tax background to not only to deepen their expertise, but also to share it with others. It would suit a client-facing adviser looking to move into an internal technical role, or an existing tax technical professional looking for the next step in their career.

The firm advises an impressive client list of HNW private individuals, owner-managed businesses, large corporates, and non-profits. The successful candidate will be comfortable advising on and researching tax issues effecting this broad range of clients.

The role will involve clear communication in various formats (written, online, and face-to-face) to the firm’s Tax teams. There’s also the opportunity to engage with HMRC and professional bodies on emerging tax policies, as well as collaborating with external partners to ensure the Tax department has the right resources to operate effectively.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of tax risk management and quality control procedures within the business.
  • Enhancing and maintaining the firm’s internal tax knowledge database.
  • Staying current with tax issues and developments relevant to the firm’s clients, and identifying opportunities to communicate these internally or externally.
  • Creating tax-related content for internal and external audiences, including technical bulletins, newsletters, website content, email alerts, and press articles.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of internal tax training programs.
  • Drafting responses to HMT/HMRC consultations on issues that affect the firm’s client base.
  • Developing templates, precedents, and checklists for use in client services.

Requisite & Expertise:

  • CTA qualified with a deep technical understanding of UK taxation, gained in either a client-facing or internal tax technical role.
  • Strong ability to quickly grasp complex tax developments and communicate them clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • An interest in how technology can support knowledge management and improve information sharing, including creating user-friendly experiences for client-facing staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences and subject matters.

Personal Tax Manager or Senior Manager - US/UK Private Clients, London

This is a super opportunity to manage a portfolio of HNW US-connected private clients, as their key trusted adviser.

Our client has built a reputation as a leading adviser to HNW/UHNW individuals. Their Private Client Tax offering includes a specialist US/UK team that provides personal tax advice to wealthy private clients (business owners, entrepreneurs and their families). 

Demand for their expertise continues to grow and they are keen to recruit an EA/ATT dual-qualified Manager or Senior Manager, to provide personal tax advisory and compliance services as a strategic member of the team.

You’ll work closely with some of the profession’s leading Partners and be supported with your own progression towards Director and Partner grades.

You’ll need to have a strong technical grasp of US and UK personal taxation, gained in a leading UK tax team. Demonstrable UK experience of advising US HNWIs on their personal tax position is essential. 

You’ll also have gained the EA and ATT qualifications. The CTA would be a bonus but is not essential. The role requires excellent client relationship management skills, as well as a commercial approach to WIP, recoverability and identifying new business opportunities.

The firm has adopted hybrid working, with many of the team coming into the office 2-3 days a week. However, there is scope to work more remotely if one wishes.
