Personal Tax Manager - Bristol

Handle high quality private client tax work for new-money entrepreneurs, wealthy families, non doms and landed wealth. Take your career to the next level with one of Bristol's leading Private Client teams.

Our client maintains a high profile in the Private Client field and acts for an enviable client list of HNW and UHNW individuals. They are growing their team in Bristol and are keen to appoint an additional personal tax adviser at Manager grade.

With the support of experienced Directors and Partners, the incoming individuals will take responsibility for a portfolio of private clients, managing key relationships and handling their annual personal tax compliance. They will also assist with ad hoc capital taxes planning.

Very much client-facing roles, the individuals will require excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

The CTA qualification is a pre-requisite, along with demonstrable experience of advising HNWIs on income tax, CGT and IHT. Some knowledge of trusts would be helpful and experience of advising UK resident non domiciles on residence, remittance and the SRT, would be useful.

In return, our client has built a strong track-record of supporting and developing its staff. They offer early responsibility, an agile working culture and the opportunity to progress towards Senior Manager grade.

Based in Bristol, the firm offers hybrid working 2-3 days a week if one wishes. 

Salary will be dependent on experience but is likely to be in the region £53k-£63k + bens + bonus. Ref 5161

Private Client Tax Director - Bristol, c.£90,000 - £110,000 DOE

An opportunity to play a strategic role in the Private Client Tax team of one of Bristol’s leading accountancy firms. Genuine scope exists to progress to Partnership.

Working with high profile Partners and assisted by an experienced team, you’ll undertake ad hoc income and capital taxes planning for an impressive private client base of HNW entrepreneurs, business owners and their families. You’ll be their key point of contact and advise on a range of issues from succession-planning and extraction of wealth, to trusts, property and transaction-related work.

The role requires excellent client relationship management skills and a strong technical grasp of IHT and CGT planning. You’ll need to be a confident communicator and also enjoy working with colleagues on networking and business development initiatives. 

You are likely to be an Associate Director or Director seeking a new challenge and the opportunity to really make a difference. Top end Senior Managers with relevant experience, who are looking to step up to Director will also be considered. The CTA qualification is a pre-requisite.

Trusts Manager - Bristol £55k-£65k DOE

Join a high-profile firm that is independently recognised for its expertise in the Private Client field. 

Their Trusts & Estates team is growing and keen to appoint an adviser at Manager level. You’ll oversee an impressive portfolio of HNW trust clients, overseeing their annual compliance, as well as advising on ad hoc planning projects. The role will include:

  • Supervising a team of junior trusts advisers, their WIP, utilisation and development
  • Review of complex trust accounts and trust returns
  • Managing ongoing administration of the trusts
  • Being the key client and third-party relationship manager on the portfolio
  • Undertaking ad hoc IHT and trust planning work, with the assistance of partners as required
